FIELD TRIP 1 – Local Housing Policy: BIP/ZIP – Collaborative Strategy for Lisbon Local Development

This field trip will introduce participants to the public housing policy developments in Lisbon after the 70s. the participants will visit different Lisbon neighbourhoods and discusses the examples of collaborative community participation. The visit explores one of the most emblematic housing and local development programs – the BIP-ZIP. This Program is a tool of municipal public policy to stimulate local initiative developed by Local Elected Councils, Inhabitants and local associations and NGOs, aimed at fostering social cohesion and territorial partnership in Lisbon and the main objectives of the Program are: promoting active citizenship, self-organizational skills and participation of the community in the search of collective solutions to improve their living conditions; Contribute to a positive image of these areas to allow and reinforce its integration in the city; Providing favorable conditions for entrepreneurship and development of local initiative. 

FIELD TRIP 2 – Housing First: The Lisbon Municipal Program to Homeless
14:30 – 17:00

Limited to 50 participants

This field trip offers the opportunity to discuss development, implementation and stakeholders of the Lisbon Municipal program to homeless people. The participants will discuss, with the local authorities, the multidimensional nature of the recent problems faced by homeless people and the housing first evidence-based practice in Lisbon.
